WIWT Lands’ End Week: Day 1
A couple of months ago, I decided to post a whole weeks’ worth of WIWTs prominently featuring Ralph Lauren. That series was pretty well received, so I thought I’d do another feature week, albeit decidedly down-market. Welcome to the first installment of Lands’ End Week.
The menswear mantra of “buy better, buy less” if repeated across the ad nauseum. For the record, It’s one that I generally subscribe to…when it comes to the big-ticket wardrobe items. I don’t advocate buying cheap suits, sport coats, shoes, or outerwear, but a man of limited means has to scrimp somewhere. Those familiar with this blog know me to be a man of excess perspiration. I ruin dress shirts fairly quickly, so investing in expensive shirts is not in the cards for me. Most of my dress shirts come from three sources; ModernTailor, Charles Tyrwhitt and Lands’ End.
Lands’ End is never going to be on the cutting edge of fashion, and you’ll always be able to find better quality clothing, but they’re usually miles away from everything else at theit pricepoint. I actually prefer LE’s OCBDs to Brooks Brothers. In this pic, I’m wearing their (must-iron) Tailored Fit Original Oxford. Unlike their tailored ft polos, these are actually pretty slim. I didn’t have to have this altered in any way, but I’m kinda soft in the mid-section, so YMMV.
